PICH Artist Link hosts your separately installed Auto-Tune Artist. PICH Real-Time X Link hosts your separately installed UAD Auto-Tune Real-Time X. Each loaded instance gets a fresh address. Closing, reloading or replacing it invalidates the old selection. Choose again after reopening a project; Key Lab never guesses a replacement.
Use Auto-Tune inside its PICH Link plug-in. This connection does not take over existing standalone inserts. Move settings manually or load your plug-in preset inside the hosted editor, checking your vocal chain afterward. MIDI Learn and Auto-Key receiving are not required.
A copied project gets new addresses even if its tracks, names and slots are identical. Old selections fail instead of reaching the copy. If Logic keeps an original instance loaded, its address still refers only to that original instance. When it unloads, re-find and explicitly select a live destination. The app does not automatically select even a single Logic result.
Logic Pro Creator Studio 12.4 with UAD Real-Time X 11.8.0 AU: mono and stereo X instances tested alongside one Artist. All 72 sends and 72 Undos passed, checking both non-target instances after each send and restoring all 93 exposed parameter values. This includes 48 X cases and 24 Artist regression cases. X’s own editor independently displayed F# Minor after Send. The actual Key Lab browser button also sent A Minor to the selected stereo X; its native editor confirmed the result, all 91 other exposed values stayed unchanged, and browser Undo restored all 93 values.
A copied project in the same Logic process assigned new IDs to all three instances. All old selections were refused; all 93 copied parameters stayed unchanged. Standalone state-restore, unload/reload and disposal checks also passed. Apple’s Audio Unit validator passed. Mono/stereo rendering at 44.1/48 kHz matched an independent Real-Time X reference exactly in the standalone test.
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| Logic 12.4 + Artist 9.2 AU | 48 sends, 48 Undos, 48 peer isolation checks across two hosted mono instances; all 70 exposed parameters restored. |
| Independent editor check | Artist displayed F# Minor after Send, then C Chromatic after Undo. |
| Identical copied project | Both loaded copies received fresh IDs. Both old targets were refused; all 70 copied parameters stayed unchanged. |
| Native lifecycle checks | State restore, uninitialize/reinitialize and disposal invalidate old targets; cloned states do not inherit the address. |
| Audio Unit validation | Apple auval passed. Standalone mono/stereo rendering at 44.1/48 kHz matched an independent Artist reference within 1e-5. |
Key Lab’s browser Send and Undo also passed with native Artist editor readback. Switching projects in the same Logic process caused the old browser selection to refuse; all 70 current-project parameters stayed restored. Updated regression suite: 267 tests run, 250 passed, 17 skipped.
October 25, 2026 · Logic 12.4 · 48 kHz. Four live checks covered stereo playback, mono playback, stereo recording and mono recording. Each ran 72 sends and 72 Undos across two Real-Time X instances and Artist: 288 sends and 288 Undos passed (192 X cases and 96 Artist regression cases). Every send checked all 91 other exposed values; every Undo restored all 93 values.
Key Lab’s actual Send and Undo buttons also passed during playback and during recording. With Logic recording the mono track, selecting stereo X in Key Lab changed only that stereo instance; the recording mono X and Artist stayed unchanged. Transport continued throughout. The generated signal was routed internally, with valid non-silent mono and stereo WAV files captured at 48 kHz. No microphone input was used.
The test project is saved as PICH Playback Recording Test.logicx. It is left stopped, with recording and monitoring off, settings restored, and its stereo output muted. These short routing tests establish targeted transfer during playback and recording, not production audio-quality certification.
Artist 9.2 and Real-Time X 11.8 are enabled. Pro and other editions are not enabled. X was live-tested in Logic on mono and stereo audio tracks; Dual Mono, automation recording, MIDI note targeting, physical microphone tracking, long sessions and production audio quality still need validation. Playback and short internal-bus recording checks passed at 48 kHz. Use the test project first. These locally signed components are not notarized customer installers.
The connection changes Key and Scale only. Retune Speed, Detune and other exposed controls are checked for unexpected changes. A failed or uncertain send is never retried automatically. Undo refuses if Key or Scale changed afterward.
The older OSC prototype remains write-blocked because it cannot reliably distinguish projects. Historical OSC investigation · Other supported hosts.
